NEW OWNER VISIT DEALER IN IRELAND
Our new CEO, Chris Christensen, accompanied by former CEO, Johnny Petersen, has returned from an eventful visit at our Irish dealer, Per Ploug, Danish Kitchen Design, in Dublin - an exciting 3-day program with four customer visits. A big thank you to all four families who have opened their homes to show the beautiful design solutions made by Per and delivered by Sønderborg Køkkenet.
During the trip Chris and Johnny also got to experience the cultural part of Dublin, including delicious food, folk music and of course the famous Guinness. Chris was kindly given the opportunity to attend an open house at Danish Kitchen Design.

A NEW ERA AWAITS SØNDERBORG KØKKENET
Please welcome Chris Christensen who on october 15 2021 is taking ownership of Sønderborg Køkkenindustri A/S after previous owner, Johnny Petersen, has decided to retire. Chris has many years of experience within the kitchen industry and is more than qualified to continue the growth of the company.
"In my opinion, it is a very well-functioning company with skilled employees, who will be the foundation in ensuring the same high level of quality and service for which the company is known for,” says Chris.
The staff would like to thank Johnny for his many years of service and love for the our danish kitchen factory. We are proud to have been part of the journey and look forward to continue our work with Chris at the forefront of it all.

NEW SUSTAINABLE SINGLE FAMILY HOME WITH DGNB CERTIFICATION IN PLATIN
The Matzen-Tegl House is a pilot project / show-case construction in Egernsund (DK), built by Gråsten Teglværk A/S to inspire the construction industry and everyone who has an interest in sustainability and indoor climate. All materials in the house are certified products that accommodate the most comprehensive certification to date within sustainable construction called DGNB. The building has achieved an overall score of more than 80% and thus received a platinum certificate. You can read more about DGNB here.
We are proud to say, that we have contributed to the project with a kitchen and bath solution that was also able to meet the strict quality requirements. For us, the transition to sustainable choices is a given, but also an ongoing process. The progress is difficult to translate into photos and so we plan to describe it more in detail in future work with a focus on the environment, total economy and a healthy surroundings.
We believe that all steps towards a more sustainable future will help us all to restore a more clean and strong planet to animals and humans.

The training as a joiner is successfully completed and Kevin has now recieved a well deserved certificate for his hard work. According to Kevin, the apprenticeship has been a long road and seen from the perspective of youth, it definitely can feel like a lifetime. We, his colleagues with several years behind us, thinks that Kevin's apprenticeship in our joinery has flown by.
Last friday we all gathered to congratulate Kevin and to present a small gift.

During our visit we got to witness the entire production process - from raw material to final product.
